The Founders

Two Friends, One Conviction

Mr. Sivakumar S. and Mr. Balaji Ramalingam started Prachodhaya Foods in 2018 with traditionally made cooking oils — coconut, sesame, and gingelly — because they could not find good chekku oil anywhere in their neighbourhood.

They had grown up in homes where gingelly oil smelled of toasted sesame and went into everything — the idli batter, the hair oil, the sunday rice. What was on store shelves looked the same but tasted of nothing. Refined, bleached, deodorized.

“Producing the best quality to the customers is our only gratification.” That line was not marketing. It was a founding principle — and it still is.
